In 1996, Rose Parenteau was forced to flee her hometown Bukavu. She had no other choice because it was a crucial decision to save her family. With six children at her side, Rose courageously led them to safety in the capital city of , Kinshasa. After seven years, her family was lucky enough to immigrate to Canada. Since Canada became their second home country, with so many blessings and extraordinary opportunities. After years  Rose met and fell in love with Gary and married him. Their love and marriage united two families and two cultures. Separately, the two families have had two very different life experiences, but despite this, we share a common belief plus  the heart of helping those in need.

Many have not been as fortunate as their family and still struggle every day to meet basic human needs in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The life experiences  gave them the perspective and the responsibility to return to the Congo to challenge the turmoil that has deeply set in. Our vision is to bring positive change to the people who have been left behind and to remind them that they have never been forgotten.
